Cloudland Canyon State Park

Cloudland Canyon State Park

Most people don’t realize that there is a natural canyon in Georgia. Though it is no where close to the scale of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, it is still over 3,500 acres and it features gorgeous views along the rim, all readily accessible. There are also two waterfalls that cascade and fall into shallow pools, all accessible via a short hike from the rim. There are plenty of walking and hiking trails from beginner to intermediate, so it’s perfect for the family and all ages. The views walking around the canyon rim are definitely the highlight. There is a stocked fishing pond on site along with horseback riding, mountain biking, and disc golf. The park features a campground with 70+ water/electric sites and a separate section for pioneer camping (off the grid). The park used to be a first-come first-served style reservation system, but they have transitioned over to site-specific reservations, which is a huge plus. You can view availability including pictures of actual sites via the Reserve America website.
