Sweetwater Campground
Sweetwater is a fairly large US Army Corp of Engineers campground along the northern side of Lake Allatoona in Canton, GA. Many of the sites offer lakefront views. Most of the sites are wooded or shaded, though some are more open than others. It is well maintained and offers the cleanliness you’d expect from a USACE campground. There is a sandy beach area with nearby playground and boat launch on site. Fishing is a popular activity on Lake Allatoona with plenty of coves and access points, whether you are fishing from the shoreline or a boat. Depending on the time of year, the level of the lake may vary revealing the famous Georgia red clay shoreline. The campground closes down in the fall and reopens in the spring.
