Unicoi State Park & Lodge
Unicoi State Park & Lodge is another privatized state park, actually run by the same group as Amicalola Falls. It has a significantly larger campground though with almost 100 campsites, some backing up to a peaceful creek that feeds into Unicoi lake. The lodge features a restaurant that typically serves a buffet and the nearby Smithcreek Tavern offering a traditional menu. There are plenty of activities for all ages from bicycling, playgrounds, hiking/walking, fishing, zip line tours, kayaking, and beach access. And don’t forget it is only about 15 minutes away from the famous city of Helen with the little shops and eateries mimicking a traditional Bavarian village.
